The Dord of Darien

Musings from the Mayor of the Internet

The most common title

So I’m thinking to myself, what do you suppose is the most common word in video game titles? I’m willing to bet it’s "super." I mean, think about it. The tradition of labeling a game — especially a sequel — "Super Such-and-such" is long-established. There was a whole slew of games on the Super Nintendo that were all Super. There are, what, thirty or forty game titles that begin with the phrase "Super Mario." So, yeah, I’m going Super on this one.

Thoughts? Any other excessively-used video game title words anybody can come up with? And don’t give me bullshit like "2" or trivial words like "the" or "and." You know what I’m talking about.

Let slip the dogs of threatened legal action!

I see over on Dan’s Data that some purveyors of questionable technology have decided to unleash their lawyers upon Dan and his blog host for doing… well, what appears to be exactly what they ordered him to do in the first place: post the PDF file documenting what they claim is proof that their product does what they say it does.

We can’t let this one go by without a struggle, can we?

So, per Dan’s open request, here’s a mirror to the file they’re trying to force him to stop distributing. Everybody’s encouraged to mirror the thing further and thoroughly make laughingstocks out of these twits and their strong-arm tactics.
